Having operated for over 20 years, this locally owned cafe & restaurant offers great coffee and delicious food. The eatery offers all day breakfast but are also known for their our selection of cakes.

Technically in Buninyong, just outside of Ballarat, The Shared Table combines Asian and Northern European food. With a focus on local, fresh produce and seasonal cooking. The restaurant has a strong focus on community.

Hidden behind a gallery, enter via the laneway to enter this prohibition-inspired bar. The 18th Amendment Bar offers some speciality cocktails and tipples, inspired by the era but with a modern touch, that’s bound to impress.

Ballarat’s favourite Cellar Door & Wine Bar has been making wine since 2008. Each bottle reflecting the cool-climate characters of Ballarat’s nearby areas including Pyrenees, Macedon, Ballarat and Henty wine regions.

Part of The Provincial Hotel, you can’t miss Clara, the cocktail caravan that lives in the hotel’s courtyard. Available on the drinks menu is a list of cocktails, aperitifs as well as some mocktails for those not feeling too boozy.

Hidden down a laneway in the centre is the hidden bar Hop Temple. Enthusiastic about good beer, wine and food but in a relaxed environment. Just follow the umbrellas and you’ll be in the right place.

ART GALLERY OF BALLARAT ($)

Located in the heart of Ballarat, is the oldest and largest regional gallery. The Gallery has an extensive permanent collection but also hosts a range of temporary exhibitions. Tickets are free but certain exhibitions may incur a fee.

BALLARAT DAY SANCTUARY ($$$)

Located in the beautiful gardens the Mercure Hotel.  The Ballarat Day Sanctuary offers hydrotherapy & sauna sessions as well as treatments such as facials, massages and more for a day of pampering.

This beautiful and luscious garden is over 40 hectares in size and is one of Australia’s most significant cool climate gardens. It also features Conservatory & Statue Pavilion for guests to explore – perfect for a stroll or picnic.

A community destination for the more than 150 years. There are a wide range of recreational activities including a 6km walking track, cycling trails, playgrounds and excellent picnic and BBQ facilities.
